after 2 weeks of the derv, i got bored of not knowing what 30mph felt like, so now have this beauty,
heater matrix needs sorting, water pump, alternator and passenger door (not unlocking from fob and electric window not working), also need to look at the thermostat and other reasons why i can only get to 26mpg at 50mph

You changed the Derv for this
Get used that mpg too, I wished I got 26mpg at 50

That derv is bloody horrible!!
-
i must admit i liked the look of it. its all about economy these days aswell
-
The derv just wasn't quick enough for me, the gti puts a smile on your face, it loves lift off oversteer also but it's a joy to drive, people say they're slow, but that's being compared to other cars, it's fast enough for me, read a review saying the mk3 was made more for comfort than being a b road go kart
-
turns out the water pump bearing has gone, i think it may be down to the alternator belt being left to slack so both will be replaced, was toying with a 1.6 civic, was pulling away, then his vtec kicked in
-
Mpg problems could be down to a faulty coolant temp sender.

cheers for the heads up, was annoying my friend last night when I was trying to get to 30mpg, only got to 28.5 down the m6

You need some better pics mate,
looks ok but don't like the headlights.

Spent 4 hours cleaning it yesterday to get some photos but the car just got filthy again, I want to get the standard lights and longbeach alloys to make it look standard as possible, no rust apart from on the wing which I'm happy with
-
car is once again filthy after not even 10 miles
the squealing noise that can only be known as a pair of chipmunks, is actually the alternator pump back bearing, so coated it in wd40 to stop it squealing and now need to source an alternator, other then that, it's pretty ship shape!
-
it's burning oil
-
-
May be looking at dropping a new engine in, got all the tools and equipment, well I actually mean making my dad do it
-
sounds like a plan what engine?

going to look in an abf, or failing that another 2.0 8v, it can't be that slow if i kept up my mates arse the other day and he has a supercharged yaris tsport which is mental

hoping it's not in need of major work, had it looked over the other day by a friend who's a car dealer and he's told me that it's had a front end respray and been in a front end collision :undecided:

Got an 8V here which was sound. Needs a few bits putting back on it but got all the bits. Rocker cover is off, PAS pump is off etc but it's all there and an alternator. I'm moving and need it all gone.
Yours if you send a courier.

What engine code is it mate?
Had a look at the door today and it's held up by a bit of wood but the window fell through so bodged it back up, also gone a bit lower on the front and gave it a clean also

brief question, how easy will it be to put an agg into a 2e?

this is getting a bit out of hand now, I now have to unlock the passenger side with the key then lean over to pull the pin up for the drivers door, then bump start it as the starter motor is knackered so i hope it never stalls in traffic like it loves doing, another thing to fix, aswell as the sill cover ripping off on a speedbump
-
Did those heater controls work for you Bud ??
