I need to replace my center section of my exhaust and am not sure which route to go ; at present I have a standard 2.0l 8V with a Magnex Universal Fit rear box.
1) Without a center box... how noisy bearing in mind trackday decibel limits / motorway driving ( droning.)
2) With centre box.... which make ... any noticeable difference in power ?
YOUR ANSWERS ON A POSTCARD PLEASE TO;
Seriously though I would appreciate your comments / recommendations,
Cheers, Oli

mine has no centre box and sounds beautifull but after a while it does your head in!!! if you want to keep sensible noise levels get a system with a centre box. it wont make a greta deal of difference to the performance.

mine has no centre box either and it sounds very quiet. When I finally get my full system made up I'll just have 1 box. The turbo muffles most of my sound though.

Have you done any trackdays with this system ie : Did it pass the decibel meter test ?

My MK3 Gti 16v has a full Jetex system - 2.5inch stainless with Boxer style tailpipe (like Scorpion).
It has no front box, a small centre box and a rear box.
Very quiet, no probs and great quality. OK, it's louder than a factory system but nowhere near track day limits - not even close.
Depends what you want.
Hope this helps.

vento it's no louder than any other car on the road at the moment. All you hear on mine is the whistle of the turbo and the flutter when I let off. No echo'ing round the buildings like the saxos I hear round my way.

which is just chavvy lets face it...........
think the decibel limit is pretty high i would lose the box, think its mainly to do with race exhausts etc
-
i meant the saxio comment by the way diz not saying you are a chav...........

No offense taken.. only thing being I have a Universal fit Magnex rear box ( large oval , didn't like twin rounded or letterbox styles ) as there aren't many options for Ventos in after market exhausts , I trust this doesn't look chavvy does it ??
-
nah i think its more the noise levels being chavvy!! mine is in danger of that which is why i'm planning an upgrade next month. with the saxo boys you get more noise than power. tossers!

i meant dizzie! but as you have a vw you arent a chav!

Get rid of middle box as long as you have rear one. Won't sound much louder at all.
Also from past experience the manifold is the main part that can make you exhaust sound mega loud.

iam thinking of getting a powerflow exhaust for my mk2 golf 20vt what size tubing would be best to give a nice note from the turbo, would just the back box be to loud :undecided:
