if you have a late 16v (big bumper) with the newer larger airbox then you can make it sound a hell of a lot better if you remove the resonater tube from the airbox
to do this:-
simply remove the base of the airbox
you will then see a long black tube in the base of the air box that exits thru the front of the box
prise this whole tube out and exit out (takes a bit of force but eventually it'll come out
your then left with a nice whole in the front of the box
put the base back into place, and reconnect to the top
take it for a drive, you'll be amazed how much meatier your 16v sounds, especially when it comes on cam!!

Yep i did that one on my old 16v years ago, its amazing how restrictive the air intake is. Drill the box out too! ;)

Don't forget if your gonna do that to leave the headlight plastic plate off. it normally fits behind the light to keep the noise down, also if your really good fit a hoover pipe to the hole mentioned above and then put it in the gap in the bumper by the towing eye.
