Post by: nukezz on 27 January 2012, 16:19
i was driving home from work today and once i reached 60its fine but if i accelerate anymore i get a vibration from my front passenger side wheel.

when i say vibration i mean as if the wheel isnt balanced but it is.

I was thinking It could be a buckled wheel sticking brake or bottom ball joint or anything suspension wise. My plans tonight = destroyed the ill have to get it up on my ramp and have a closer inspection. The car comes first

Just back from my garage. i jacked up the car and spun the wheel and the noise coming from the gearbox/drive shaft area sounds like broken metal..?  :undecided: but it drove 5 miles there and 5 miles back and runs ok apart from vibration from the passenger side.

Get underneath and grab the drive shafts one at a time and wiggle them to check for play.

I had a similar wobble on my last gti and one shaft had a good 1cm of play in it!!!
