Title: oil!!
Post by: 2004sammy on 18 May 2005, 11:53: Hi chaps!! Going on a jaunt to Edinburgh over the wonderful A68 on Bank Holiday weekend so want to do a quick service.....what oil do you recommend? Bog standard 8v? Are these servicing packs available online with plugs,filter,oil etc good value?(About Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£40)

Post by: Gambit on 18 May 2005, 12:06: mk2 8v? just use Quantum Silver Synta - its what VAG specifiy to use. can be got from German Swedish French along with a VAG Oil Filter for about Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£15

Post by: the_GTI_new_guy on 20 May 2005, 21:16: I use vegetable oil. Its cheap, easy to get and after your jouney you can cook your chips with it. Hmm, maybe not :laugh: Stick with original or anything of same viscosity as long as its by a known manufacturer. Dont go too thin or leaks will appear!

Everything said before and if you don't have a local GSF then your local VAG stealership can supply it for Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£0.50 to Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£1 more than GSF :wink:
