Title: passanger drive shaft just snapped

driving out of work and it was making some weird noise so i looked couldnt see anything then drove off again and then it just went bang!! now i need a new passanger drive shaft are they all the same or different on the golfs

Vw charge mega bucks.
If you can wait a couple days try j&r drive shafts on eBay. A few of us on here run them with no problems

Mate had a J&R one and it didnt last.

Im running a AMK one now (or was) and it was holding up fine, had minimal play in it which is expected but held up to 275lbft torque well enough under the abuse it got!

go to local parts dealer and get one under warranty, thats i did, you can get full shaft for like £50 avoid dealers they want something like 170 quid per side :lipsrsealed:

Great lop mine looks like the type that has Allen key bolts as found some on the floor with a sort of cup

They are XZN bolts, but there are 2 types.  Long and thin or short and fat.

Also a 100mm inner joint and a 108mm inner joint.

mines been on for over 10k now with no problems (touch wood) and my cars lowered quite a bit and got over 300lbft of torque. Luck of the draw I guess. Cost 60 quid too

Well mines a evs gear box and juat took it back to the place where it was motd as they took it off to change a boot
