Title: brake bleeder

I'm going to fit braided brake lines to the car and I'm due a change of brake fluid on my other car so might as well buy a decent bleeder



can anyone recommend me a good DIY bleeder.

I'm thinking of buying a used compressor but if i can get a bleeder with doesn't need one it would be handy.


also does the clutch need bleeding when i do the brakes or can i get away with not doing it?

Why not do it the old fashioned way by just pumping the pedal to get the fluid to bleed through?  :smiley:

And the clutch wont need bled.  :smiley:

its easier if i can do a 1 man bleed. always done the old fashioned method on my bikes but with the car i would need another person.

i would be using VW brake fluid and my car is 4 months old so contamination of any left over fluid in the clutch system shouldn't be a problem but you never know.

Or a sealey vs0205 automatic brake and clutch bleeder little bit cheaper if you dont want to spend that much and it connects onto the tyre instead of having to pump for pressure comes with a few different resevoir caps aswell for most common makes.
We sell quite a few of them and get good feedback from them

I've been looking at both of them actually but also the VS020 type which runs of a compressor and fits onto the bleed nipple.

I've got my eye on a few compressors on ebay so might be a better job?


does the type which uses the spare tyre actually work? i would be a bit worried about blowing the reservoir or if the cap pops off and blows fluid all over the car!

The bleeders that work off the spare tyres are ok, but i kept on getting air pressure leaks, so i gave up and bought the VS820.
Great piece of kit.

yeah they do look good and are only about £50 if you shop around

im bidding on a compressor on ebay so will see how it goes.
