Title: STRANGE NOISE

Hi all went out last night and when i started the golf up its a gti 1.8 turbo it was making a weird noise like a vacuum cleaner i turned the car off and started it up again and the noise went then a couple of hours later it did it again. I went to the car this morning started it up about 5 times and it was fine then my wife took my daughter to school and it was fine but when she went to work it did it again. Any ideas what it could be i was thinking the starter motor could be sticking????

i it like a squeal when you start it up mine does it common on mk4's

if its the starter motor dunna worry been doing it on mine for ages

should get it sorted tbh, only takes a hour to sort it and better than your starter motor breaking
