I have had two previous Golfs both with Sat Nav - one Mark 5 and on my second Mark 6 with RNS510. With both previous cars - if I turned down/up the sat nav voice volume while it spoke it would remain at that volume. Very frustrated with new GTD - with sat nav on I turn down the volume when it speaks but the next command it gives the volume is back up. This just goes on and on. It is very loud and very intrusive and I can find no way at all of adjusting it in the same way as previous two cars.
Can anyone give some advice before I have to take it in to the garage or tear my hair out.
Thanks

Isn't there a setting under setup for the navs default volume?
I'm pretty sure that if I adjust my nav when it's chatting that it will then continue at that volume.

The Sat Nav in the Mk5 had a base setting, but I don't have one for the current version in the Mk6. Like the doc says, the volume is adjustable when instructions are being given and then stays like that until you adjust it again.
Do the current head units have 'Gala' that increases the sound the faster you go? Maybe that is faulty?

Thank you!
Think I have finally worked it out. If you press the 'Tone' button and go to 'Navigation & voice control' then select 'voice volume' it gives a minimum volume for the voice to be set at which in the case of my unit was very high. I have now set it quite low which means I can alter it up and down and it stays. Why do they make it all so complicated :S
