Hello all,
Seems i'm not having much luck lately with my new Golf, haha. I noticed a few days ago that I had a wet patch underneath my car, starting from the side of the middle of the tire and running down to just under the front bumper. I thought nothing of it as I had been messing around with my screen wash which is directly above it. But the other day I came out to my car and noticed it again, I wouldn't call it a puddle but a very fine little stream. It looked like water, was clear. Ive tried looking in from the top of the bonnet and underneath it but can't see where exactly this water is coming from. Some idiot at the garage had filled the screen wash with water instead of actual screen wash but I don't know if this would cause this problem?
Any ideas? Car's already booked in to go back in the garage next Thursday and it's within there warranty so I want to try and find the problem before I have to shell out to fix it myself!
The car is a 2.0 Golf GT Sport 140 TDi by the way.
It also seems to be when I haven't driven the car for a day or two and the temperature is cold outside if that helps.
Thanks,
Ryan.

i get this on my audis and ST well nealy cars with aircon
are you loseing any coolant ?
not noticed it on the gti as its prety new and not had a dry day yet

My coolant level seems fine. So I don't think so. I heard it can be caused by the air con system but ive not used my air con for a week or so?
Cheers for the response.

Is the air con working properly?

It is yes, furthermore I went outside to check the car an hour ago and the wet patch has disappeared even though I haven't moved the car or even turned the ignition on, so i'm presuming it can't be a leak? How strange.
Thanks for the input.

u sure its not water running off the car after driving

I had something similiar in the past that turned out to be a perished fibre washer on the washer bottle. Fix was simple and cheap.

No as the car has been stationary in the same place for 2 days now.

Sounds very much like where I get the same wet patch in Summer , (after using the air con.)
Very strange in the current climate though :undecided: Are you in the UK ?
