Title: Tool for removing head bolts???
Post by: tobz. on 18 May 2005, 09:24
The guy who changed the cambelt on my mk2 yesterday has a mk4 in with a cracked head but can't source a tool for undoing the head bolts. I'm not familiar with the mk4 so I said I'd post on here to see if anybody can help. The bolts are a little like a torx head but the splines are square in profile rather than triangular. Has anybody had to buy a tool for these bolts and if so where from???

Cheers
Toby

to re move the head you can get away with a metric allen key (6mm or 8mm i cant remmeber) as it dont matter if you shag the bolts as you need new ones anyway!!, i made my own tool and its spot on, can make you one for £2 plus p+p £3 ish ,,, stands up to all torque settings to tighten the head etc.
