this may well be true... doesnt mean a woman cant cook a good meal, iron, wash the car all in the same afternoon.

There are soo many more matches to win on pro evo, have to share the work accordingly!

What is really funny, is that you think I was being sirious  I do like to cook, but only when I'm in the mood and honestly after a days grafting, it's not then.

I do prefer my wifes cooking to mine, it's always that bit better when someone else has cooked and she is a pretty good cook, got a slow cooked stew at home waiting for me that been in the slow cooker all day  if only I could get home now dammit I'm starving!

Looks tasty. Although I hate mushrooms with a passion

Went round a mates house for dinner a few years back. His Mrs cooked dinner who I didn't know to well at the time. Now theres is two things I really can't stand to eat and thats butter and mushrooms. So out comes the starter low and behold is one of those great big portabella mushrooms smothered in garlic butter. I could have died. I thought right come on get a grip, its rude not to at least try the starter So I politely smilled and took a mouthful then immediatly proceeded to gag. His Mrs was staring right at me as I was gagging.... I've never felt so embarrassed  :embarassed:

ps Did you make that plate at a pottery class or something

I love cooking. When I got my redundancy money I went out and spent £250 on kitchen knives and £600 on a Belling cooker. I couldn't quite run to a Rangemaster or an Aga as we live in a rented house: they were a bit expensive and wouldn't fit...

I very rarely take photos of  the food I cook as I prefer it gets eaten rather than looked at. Got home today and knocked up an awesome lasagne with garlic bread. Saturday we had a roast dinner for 4, then Sunday I made chicken & mushroom pie with the leftovers. Nom.

I am no cordon bleu chef but I do like to try new things regularly.

I feel this is a rather archaic view you two are taking, somthing highly satisfying about cooking a good meal. 90%of the worlds top chefs are male...

They take this view now, but just put a BBQ in front of them and it'll be a completely different story! "step aside woman, this mans work."

Men are generally interested in food and eating large quantities of tasty food, so it follows that if you want to eat nice stuff you learn how to cook nice food yourself.

In our house, savoury food is mostly my domain, baking on the otherhand is something my wife does and does it very well.

I've always liked the currys you get in Chinese takeaways so I had a go at making one the other night. After a bit of research I found the key to the flavour is the curry paste. The jar of wing yip curry paste I used is the one most chinese resturants use (you can buy it in the Sansbury's World Food Section). Well it tasted spot on anyway.

Apart from the chicken of course I added some stock (mixed with the curry paste), 1 Green Pepper, 1 red chilli, fresh ginger, spring onion, carrots and peas.

There is a genuine chinese shop down the road from me (genuine as in run by chinafolk and all prices/what the hell you are buying are in chinese) As you walk in to the left there is a wall of free recipies you can pick up, then it tells you where everything is in the store. Keep meaning to do it but never seem to get round to it  oh and the recipes aren't in chinese

cooked this the other night...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chicken_curry_with_59058 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chicken_curry_with_59058)

along with homemade onion salad, homemade bombay aloo and freshly cooked poppadoms and jasmine basmati and wild rice

i would have taken a photo but my dinner guests would have wondered what the hell I was doing and then proceeded to take the piss all night

but it tasted delicious
