Title: vr6 engine into mk3 gti 1997?

hey people just wondered on what i would need to put a vr6 engine into my mk3 gti 2.0 8v 1997 and how much it can roughly cost. thanks  :smiley:

okay mate also how easy or hard and how much does a 1.8t conversion into a mk3 cost? roughly and how hard as i said? ive searched but cant seem to find anything proper

how much do you want to spend,  it'll probably be a bit more.  look at a build thread and add up the prices that you can get the bits for.

built a mk2 1.8T with a mate for them to do a rally with a £500 budget ( including buying the mk2 and all bits for conversion )   it's possible to do it but bloody hard work.  likewise you can spend 5k easily if you wish to.

3.5k sounds like a good number at the moment

Vr6 swap is easy enough to do but a lot easier with a donor car, also well worth replacing the cam chains whist the engine is out.
