Title: Wandering problems
Post by: Deano2711 on 21 January 2012, 14:03
My Mate has an Escort van that has been giving him problems recently. Basically as he is driving when he is driving along when accelerating or decellerating it has started to wander to the middle of the road and he cannot stop it for a whie until it's too late. He has changed the wishbones and engine mounts but no joy. I believe maybe it's a tracking issue. Does anyone else have any ideas and tips on how I can check the tracking for him ??

Take it to a garage and get it checked out lol. You can make a DIY tracking gauge with a length of square box section and some threaded bar but its just not worth it if your only going to use it once and they are a pain to use compared to a proper gauge. You will note that he has probably spent more than the tracking costs "trying" to find the fault only to find that he hasnt fixed it......

It's being magnetically drawn towards scrapyards.

You will not be able to solve this issue, except by driving it to a scrapyard and leaving it there.
