Title: Coding help!
Post by: sundaydriver on 21 January 2012, 10:13
I had an OEM bluetooth kit fitted a while back by darren but the microphone button on the steering wheel doesn't work for voice controls. Is there something a i can change using VCDS to get this working. I've always used the star button the RNS510 for voice commands.

Also i read a post a recently but can't find it about Coming/Leaving home lights where you can change it to the MK5 settings so you don't have to pull the light stalk back when you get out of the car to get the lights to activate.

Any help appreciated.

HERE (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=209239.msg1938471#msg1938471) is the info about the leaving/coming home lights I put up earlier.

Not totally sure about whether the button setting is in the RNS setup or the steering wheel setup, will have a look later for you if no one else sorts you out first.

The other setting is in the steering wheel controller, just went out and checked it.
There is no long coding helper for this you just need to manually enter the number.

The coding screen looks like this

and the options are as follows.

Its the setting with PTT installed you want to change.

At the moment mine is set to 6 - Multi-Function Steering Wheel with Tiptronic and no Push-To-Talk (PTT) installed
If I wanted to change the function of the button I would add 2 to this value and change it to 8
so my value would now read 0001832

Hope this helps
