Title: New Golf V GTI standart audio system
Post by: Komix Boy on 16 May 2005, 22:36
Hi,

I have ordered my new GOLF V GTI and it will be in my hands in about a month. My question has to do with the audio system which I would like to remove and place my JVC. Is this possible? Is there an extra part in the market that makes the double space of the current system in to two? Does any body likes the original audio system?

not sure off the top of my head if the mk5 has a DIN sized radio as standard. I know the other 4 golfs did have, but with the growing trend to use unique radios to cut down on theft they might have joined the band wagon. If it does have a unique fit radio you'll need a fasica adapter that are about £10-25 from us (Sextons). You can get a DIN sized pocket to fill the gap (or a in dash DVD player ;))

I'll find out about that tomorrow at work.
