Title: HI, JUST FOUND THE SITE, damn good.

ive had,

mk1 gti, 1980, red
mk2 8v gti 2 door, 1989, white
mk2 16v gti 2 door, 1990 met blue
mk2 8v gti 2 door, 1991 red
mk3 8v gti 2 door, 1992 mex red met very dissapointing :sad:
corrado 16v 1995 met blue :smiley:
polo gti 2001 2 door silver.
mk4 1.8T gti 2 door 2000

presently own,

R32, 53 plate deep blue pearl alcantara int. :cool:
mk2 8v 4 door 1989. met blue.

excellent site.

Post by: muskie on 16 May 2005, 22:01: thanks guys, been exploring the site and it really is a proper enthusiasts site, been into veedubs for some time now have strayed on a few occasions but always always come back, the mk1 and 2 golfs have just got something very special that you cant quite explain, its when you turn the key in the morning and it just bursts into life, i enjoy every minute behind the wheel of a mk 2, dont get me wrong the 32 is a fantastic car but just different in its own special way.

that is just my opinion of that car, it may be someone else's ideal car :smiley: i just thought it was underpowered and overweight in standard form. bit of an anticlimax after the mk2. we are all different and choose different cars for different reasons. :wink:

muskie, there's a bit of banter between a few of the regulars about the different mks, it's all done in jest anyway and no offence is meant to anyone as we all give as good as we get. :wink: :smiley: :smiley:

Welcome to the site mate.

You should have gone for a 16v mark3, with an uprated tiller, gives far better handling, especially when trying to navigate locks on canals
