WARNING. The following thread is about tyre stretch, if you do not like this; PLEASE, leave now!
So, ive bought some porsche d90's. Fronts are 7's and the rears are 8's. They came with 225 55 and 205 50. Pretty big! Im gunna need a bit of stretch on the rear as my Mk3 is low. Whats the best sizes to achieve this?
Would 195/45/16 be ok all round and provide a big of stretch on the rear?
Cheers in advance!

Try: http://wheelsworldwide.co.uk/ in Clevedon, they should do them all ok.

Also, budget is a little stretched now seeing as the wheels are in need of a refurb. I was going to buy some Toyo Proxies TR1's. Would budgets stretch? Or if i be a real cheapskate, would part worns be ok?
Also, any idea on colours? I do like them in the gunmetal/anthracite. Looking for something a little different though!

Pm me ill tell you what I can get proxies for, and ill see if we can stretch the tyres at work. 8s will be the problem

I have 195 45 16's on my Porsche cups, 25mm adapters out back and 30mm adapters on the front, I had to roll my arches to get them to fit. I will be fitting the 30mm on the back and running -1.5 camber :) I have budget tyres, nankang s2's, they stretched nicely and seem pretty good to be honest!

No they won't. I have 8" front 9" rear. 195/45/16 all round.
They went on easy on the 8"
9" was easy too.
I put a inner tube in the tyre, pump it up so the side Walls stretch out. Leave that for 20 mins then quickly put them on.

My 215/35's on my 9.5" RS's were easy too, didn't even need the cheeta!

195/45's on 8" are no problem. Any tyre place could do it.

Mine went on easily :)
