Title: Does my Dodge belong in here or MK5 TDI section mmmmm?
Post by: clipperjay on 17 January 2012, 22:43
Serviced the old gal fuel filter, air filter and oil filter you think it was an easy job think again pictures say a thousand words!  :lipsrsealed:
I was given the wrong fuel filter so had to redo it all over again, after it sprayed a load of diesel in the bay

Jay.  Can you post up a pick of the whole car, so we can see what the innards are part of.

Not sure the WHY the interest, but I'll take it as face valve!
The car was over shingles and the dust gives the impression of bald tyres loads of tread left matey

Haaa for once I agree  :lipsrsealed: it was a good buy at the time!
It was this or a Bentley
The official colour is called Sunburst Orange.
Could have had any colour I wanted, but it being the kiddy carrier wife driving it best to be seen.
The interior has a built in mini fridge about 100 drink holders (American thinking!). Eight sub woofer system that produces about 500w odd and its functionality can't fault it.
Engine is VW. TBH for the money I spent I would have had a secondhand Touran or Sharan. But wife wanted something with warantee which was about 3 years cover and break down cover included.
18" alloys Sport model

Well a few things have cropped up since abusing the old gal!
A engine management light came on a mate stuck vag com on to it.
It was EGR error then we found one vac pipe was just hanging, plugged it back in and cleared the error and two days after came back, but I think the main VAC junction clip was not on properly as I pushed it back in and heard the clip engage.
Anyways CAM belt up I've done 63K so should be right for change the rollers weigh about 1/2 killo on diesels  cost of cam kit from VAG £250 included water pump not too bad!

 :lipsrsealed:
Haven't bolted it back yet letting things dry out and settle.
Used brake cleaner and a screw driver mainly loads of rags and tissues but not bad result I think hope it works when back on the car  :undecided:

Today was a day off to fix the rear suspension.
Had to remove 14 bolts!
Two were pigs and had to get out the plasma cutter :lipsrsealed:
Two lateral links and two upper lateral links plus replaced two anti roll bars, pig of a job!
Worst thing you need a lift to tighten up all the bolts so the bolts dont stretch the bushings it needs all corners to th ground with full weight behind it.
The whole rear feels so much better afterwards, but what is the world coming to when high tensile bolts cost just as much as the parts?
