Does anyone know where i can get the cam belt and water pump changed on my car.i'm in the west country near bath/bristol local garage quoted £500 mmm i dont think so :evil:

think my cousin mechanic could do it cheaper (ALOT) parts and labour your looking at around £300 I THINK!
get another quote the guy is clearly ripping your A HOLE apart

IIRC VW wanted £400
I paid £240 for belt kit inc tensioner and waterpump at a local garage using genuine parts :smiley:

VW want £450 to do cambelt, tensioner, water pump on a 1.9TDi.
I doubt the 1.8T is much different.

Well the difference is they charge around £35 per hour, the local main Skoda dealer is £75 :shocked:

Around here the cheapest is 50 quid an hour plus VAT.

Found a local garage they are members of the good garage scheme :smiley: £330 all inc thats using oe vw parts :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

Most of the smaller garages around here are around the £35 per hour mark.
