I'm not picking it up til later this afternoon, so depending on light, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get some good pics up. I'll try and get them up ASAP though!

must be the day for Red cars to be sorted then, as mine is in today - same shocks and the -30mm eibachs as well. i have asked them to check top mounts, bushes, etc too

cant wait to get her back, as the courtesy car is like some poor old donkey who has been flogged every day of its life

All went on no probs! Car feels SO much firmer, with less body roll!! As you said, needs to settle in before I can make a true evaluation, although it already feels a million times better than my dirty diesel suspension!

i dont think i noticed mine as much as i should last night as i had a 1.6 golf with pretty worn suspension as my courtesy car and anything is better than that! that said, it felt nice to drive this morning. i bet ill notice it more a, once its settled and b, when i next go in the missus' gti-t which is on standard suspension

Well I was driving round in my 1.8T whilst the diesel was at the garage. So I had an instant comparison as soon as I picked it up! Million times better than the standard GTI setup! Sticks to the road nicely and it's only gonna get better!

weirdly mine was similar, although i transplanted a R32 engine and drive train into mine instead of the big turbo. they even kindly supercharged it while it was there which was nice of them.

is it worth getting my wheels re-aligned once the new shocks and springs have settled down? the front mounts were replaced at the same time, so I am wondering if it makes sense to get this done?

thanks all.

will update with a picture or two once it has had a few weeks for the shocks and springs to settle

I would if I were you. Mine will all be re-alligned before I have the MOT on Tuesday! Because everything is new, it's all over the place!

Will get pics up Monday latest, but personally can't see that it's much lower! :undecided: I know it is though, as I used to fit 4fingers in the arch gap, n now it's 3

I know it will continue to lower, but maybe it's just me being impatient!?

im so glad you said that - i keep looking at mine then my other halts gti-t (standard suspension) and struggling to notice much difference but again measured the same way as you and it definitely is - trick of the eye i suppose

i will see if i can get the car in to be re-aligned when i can - its shouldn't cost too much should it? it normally gets done with new tyres doesn't it?

not yet from me - new alloys picked up today (unfortunately Rich didn't want to swap his anni's for my 15" ones - some people hey!!), so will fit them over the weekend and put up a pic with them on too.

i think I'm happy with the height though - i have noticed its stiffer (although mine was pretty worn anyway). roads are far too bumpy in the sticks where i am.

That's why I didn't get a shock/spring kit. Because;

A. I'd always moan it looks too high still,
B. I'd wanna go lower after a few months of getting used to the height, so adjustable coilovers were the better choice for me.

Oh and give it a day or 2 to settle, as my brother had the same problem and said it looked the same, but dropped about an inch over the next day or so.

Car passed the MOT today!!

Had VRS rear beam bushes fitted prior to going through, as my old ones were fooked. But it sailed through! Obviously I had new suspension fitted last week, which helped

For those with diesels running decats, that were questioning if VOSA's new regulations will affect you running one, worry not, I've got a full system running a decat!
