Title: Some pedantic buggers on here mind.
Post by: Buster73 on 16 January 2012, 18:55
Getting their knickers in a twist about missing keyrings

Then moaning about full leather instead of half leather or tartan cloth.

The to add insult to injury two numbers missing off the front seats .

What is the world coming to..........

Give your heads a shake man.

These guys have just shelled out £30k on a car, I think they have every right to complain when things aren't how they should be.

Got a feeling you'll find the door soon.......And I think it's is that way. >>>>>>>>>>>

Ill be honest im piffed about not having the 35 detailed in the seats and every 35 owner will prob feel the same ......

If you dont own one and instead drive a standard gti ull probably not understand and yes spending 30g's on one ud expect VW to go all out with the car especially since in every picture and brochure 35 is visable in the seats.

As to why they shorted out on the uk ??

who knows

ps the doors ^^^^^^^

I've got an Ed35 on order , from the same dealer that my son bought his R last year , from the same dealer I've bought other Vw's from and sent many a pal down to buy Vw's in the past.

I cannot help thinking the good relationship I've got would be soured if I kicked up a fuss about a bloody keyring or missing numbers off a full leather seat.

It's a chat forum , about opinions , about debate , some will agree and some will disagree ,that's life.

Point taken but surely at the same time you would expect the t's to be crossed and the i's to be dotted? I too have been a customer of my local dealer for a number of years and I suppose this is why I'm more than happy to dig my heals in about a daft keyring.

What spec have you gone for and when do you expect to take delivery?

If your dealer isn't giving you what you paid for and are entitled to then i'd say your "relationship" is already sour, no?

I guess I'm lucky cos the salesman I've dealt with is as picky as me so he's sound with me stalking him!

Eh? It appears your saying only ED35 owners spent over £30k on their cars, I think you'll find lots of GTI owners here spent well £30k on their "standard" GTI

Also, even us "standard" GTI owners can kick up a fuss. I remember that a good many folk on here were a tad disappointed when they were given a drab black service manual wallet instead of the special, red stitched, GTI badged edition.

Most of us were also annoyed at small omissions around the car itself, namely the lack of door sill protectors, the lack of seat handle inserts and so forth.

It doesn't matter how much you spend on something. If you don't fully receive everything that you paid for then you are entitled to kick up a fuss.

And besides, without the fancy badges, embossed seats and keyring, the Edition 35 is near enough a standard GTI. So if I'd shelled out for a special edition over the standard edition I'd be making sure I was getting all the bells and whistles I was due.

There's no need to kick up a fuss. I mean, if you want your wife to do something, you ask her in such a way that she'll do it thinking it was her idea all along.

You've got to remember Buster, this forum represents a small percentage of actual owners, which probably means that nationwide (worldwide?) a higher percentage of customers are not getting exactly what they ordered and paid for, *IF* these people don't complain to the manufacturer then eventually whatever was missing in the spec then becomes the norm and subsequent customers end up paying a higher price for a lesser product!
**Always** kick up a fuss if you don't get what you've paid for!

f**k that ide complain my arse off if things wern't right. IE if the broucher has 35 in the headrest ide want it. I know you should get a keyring so i want that also, Not because some valeter decided he liked the look of it and pinched it.

If it's not to the spec I ordered then yes, I would kick up a fuss.

You should have seen the battle I had to get floor mats in mine (bought second hand) - let's just say I didn't leave the showroom until I got them - and we parted on good terms and still speak to the salesman who sold me the car - great guy.

Oh and the same for the connector cables in the armrest; the bottle opener etc.

If somebody has spent a lot of money on a car or any other item then absolutely raise the issue and demand what you have paid for.

I am pedantic. I am a perfectionist. I am a little OCD. Nothing wrong with that IMO

+1.

My car was sitting in the showroom before I bought it so someone had knicked both. I didn't have to kick up a fuss to get them but I would have if needed.
