Title: electrical problem need help
Post by: GTIcheeseman on 16 January 2012, 18:13
Electrical situation it's had new alternator, new belt, new tensioner and new battery , new fuses above battery , checked all earths, checked connections above battery but every now and again I get all the electrics go off.

The engine nearly stalls and on and the abs light comes on saying alternator workshop. and this morning I done my windows up and it through the car into the same thing. .... I have a vag scanner and it did come up with 00668 battery supply terminal 30 ..........

I really need help getting slightly annoyed....

Right new update today it's throwing up the abs /alternator lights but it's not killing the engine, I turned it off a second ago and from the dash or more under the dash there was clicking like a relay:/ now I don't see a relay being that loud but the millage clocks flickered as well also the wipers are now dead slow..... the rear n/s light has a has some dodgy wiring so dont know if that might be contributing.....

also now i can tell its gonna play up as my interior light flickers and i get a high pitch noise coming from the speakers when the stereos on ...... Really need help :( it might be good bye golf soon

Remove it and check it - if it has signs of melting get it changed - also check the alternator is putting out the correct voltage and is not over charging
