Lots of frustration at the mo but you do get a good sense of achivement out of it. Before anyone starts saying about costs it's cost me less than £500 INCLUDING any funly new bits of garage equipment I've bought for it and the £110 worth of diesel to bring it home...

Wish I owned a house, I'd love to throw myself into doing one up.  I'm pretty good at that sort of stuff, and actually quite enjoy it, shame really.  I like astronomy, but don't own a telescope.  Like doing up cars, but don't have a drive or garage.

I haven't really thought my hobbies through

But mainly, my hobbies are my jobs which are my band and my recording studio.

Getting on well after a few days practice...getting the hang of TIGing, just need to finesse the settings.
I could Oxy/Acetylene weld better them MIG, so I'm picking up TIG reasonably easily.

I got an AC/DC, 250A, HF start, multi adjustment TIG foot pedal and water cooled TIG Torch.

sounds a good bit of kit, i went for the R tech 251 as very good price for an AC TIG and works well to be fair to it. use an air cooled torch at home tho seems to cope fine on brackets and exhaust manifolds,  cooked it up a few times doing ali inlets tho. thought about buying it a watercooler a few times

Nice choice!
That's the one I bought too

Been using the air cooled torch and no foot pedal so far...but I was hooking up the water cooler today.
Not tried the pedal yet.
So far I've only been doing 2-3mm thick box section and pipe.
It certainly seems a nice piece if kit.

I read somewhere that Sheffield boasts the most cinemas per person of population in the UK.  I would have thought that this would make it very cheap.
