Just treated myself to a new 1TB Verbatim external Hard drive! £59.99 £15.00 off with 118 Nectar points once bought.
Its £15 off from Sainsbury's and thought its not bad for a 1TB checked google shop and they are about £77-£88
2 Year garantee
Already formatted FATS32 with Nero backup essentials loaded.
Verbatim 47512 1TB Desktop Hard Drive
Computer recognised 930GB so 70GB gone to fairies, but hey still not bad for the money!
The model is 47512
Cache 8MB
Weight 1KG
Speed I think is about 5400 Rpm
It did 4GB file transfer in about 6mins on my comp.
Not sure how many are left nationally but I saw two boxes left on the self and I managed to get one on them.
Here is a link but they look like they have flown out of the shops already.

Only grumbles is the power lead, USB is only about 1 meter long, but hve placed ontop of the comp and its whisper quiet which is what I wanted.

out of stock :undecided:
-
Obviously not as cheap, but about £25 more for an extra TB.

I had 3 of them WD 2TB drives and they are sh!t. Constantly crashing when writing or slowing down to kbs.
But then my 4 year old 1TB WD drive is great so got refunded and bought another 2 of them

I just use spare 2.5" and 3.5" drives and buy external caddies for them.

TBH my 500GB external seagate its about 5 years old and tried transfering some old back up files and had hard drive issues errors so for me to buy this was important. The only issues I have is I might reformatt the Verbatim into NTFS format becuase I'm not even sure if FATS32 will work smoothly with my other two NTFS formatted drives?
By the way the best thing to do is ring around the shops they are usually national numbers get through to sales and ask if they have them in stock the warehouse said out of stock but I just picked one off the shelf at my local sainsbury's

Reformating 1TB takes a long ass time by the way!
The NTFS format is working much better with the other drives!
I checked and did a smart scan of the drive apprently Samsung make this drive Yeah!
Its defo 5400Rpm but quite quick for my needs better than my old Segate 500GB.
Drive #3 - SAMSUNG HD103SI USB Device (931 GB)

reformatting my 1tb drive took me 25 seconds
-
All depends on the method of reformatting/file system type and OS.
-
I could do it with my (EMHPR) Electro Magnetic Haggis Pluse Ray 1 second flat.
Just last night went to the Epsom Sainsbury's and they had 6 hardrives still on shelf @ £59.99
I rang those gits they said they had none!
I've worked it out you need to go to the larger stores to find them they will be placed near the Scan disk usb keys near where they normaly sell TV's.

Lol

4gb in 6 mins!!!!!!!!!!!
my drives transfer 4.5gb in 58 seconds :smug:
-
Is it me or should my nick be Jinxi!
The hard drive gave out today
A message kept saying "Do you want ot format now?"
Feck
Couldn't back up 500GB worth of films, porn bus documents what pissed me off the most was there were so baby pictures backed up but couldn't access the hardrive  :lipsrsealed:
Formated about five times in the end before getting money back. Wasted at least 6 hours just backing up and even the auto disc fix stopped working half way through.
Not much luck with tech these days must be getting old
-
 Baby pics are the worst to loose mate, gutted for you.
-
Yeah just found them on another HD safe, plus digging the old CD's discs got them backed up!
I'm a sucker just bought the last one from Epson, but this one is better due to the made in South Korea the last one was Vietnam the logo is more upto date with red colouring.
I should get a call from Sainsbury's in morning about the lost data.
