I've noticed that since January the forum seems to slow down quite a bit, sometimes taking a minute or two for pages to open. Getting a lot more connection errors as well :undecided:
Anyone else finding this, or is it just me?
-
Ive had a few connection errors too.

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
-
Aye, it's been going like sh!te for me recently. Particularly this evening
-

Anyone know what the issues is? Server problems I'm guessing?
-
site still being a slower to load :undecided:
-
Server configuration. Unfortunately you don't easily just buy a server pre-configured to run blazingly fast as a forum.
Work is in progress and has been since I moved the site at the start of the month.
-
It has suddenly became really slow tonight as of 5mins ago.
Pages wont load at all and when i press quote, nothing happens for minutes.
-
Yeah, happens a lot. you click on a button, and it just doesn't load.
-
hmmm, never experienced this.... Stop clicking buttons.
-
Fine for me, had a few SMF errors the other day but after and before that it's been fine  Overall still a lot better than it was before the big old 'sort out' a few weeks ago.
-
i still have the occasional page hanging, a quick F5 and all is good again though
-
Don't know if its my mac being bent or the site...
but when I press back it goes back to the last page then reloads again and shows threads from the 16/1 @ 22.30 :undecided: Its only doing it on this site but referring the page and it loads the current threads.
PS, Only started doing this today
-
It's your Mac being bent.

Hard to say exactly, but there was some server tuning performed behind the scenes, one part was setting up the caching mechanism on SMF.
-
See what it's like later. More than likely the mac trying to go back in time...
-
they do come with a time machine :lipsrsealed:
-

Its still only doing it on this forum and does it when using the back button or the track pad :undecided:

I have seen it doing what you mean Steve, so you are not entirely mental ;)
On busy smf forums one of the performance recommendations is to remove the recent post section!
