Title: Boost sensor location on AUQ engine
Post by: F17BAD on 13 January 2012, 12:33
Got a AUQ 180 BHP engine to transplant into my dads mk4 2.slow GTI

Donor car is running everything is sweet as a nut but I have fault code 16622 on vagcom which is boost sensor

Anyone know Where is this located on this engine ? We think it could be on the intercooler but not 100%.

Cheers

Yeah I know about the map sensor, my S3 engine in the golf has this too. But been told this isn't the boost sensor?

The boost sensor is the MAP sensor on the SMIC of the AUQ engine.

it is on the SMIC

out of interest are you using the AUQ ECU?

I have a problem with that fault code coming up occasionally, tried a few bosch MAP sensors and wiring loom was all ok, was going to swap the ECU but seemed to fix itself and had no fault codes for a good few months now.

Forge IIRC sell a flange that can be welded on to pipework for fitting of a MAP sensor

Yeah it's a common thing this code, think carbon can do a bug fix for it

I'm using the factory ECU and factory IC and map sensor location as its just going into a mk4 and as standard as possible just replacing a crap 2.0 8v for my dad

I choose the AUQ because it's 180 BHP rather than 150 and it's doubtfully my dad will map it.. Unless I get Craig to sort a cheeky one out ;/)

I have that forge pipe u mention on my mk3

Remap makes a lot of difference and is well worth it.

So does anyone have a link for the map adaptor/ flange you need when you fit a fmic to an auq 180???

Got my AUQ engine today along with the 6 speed box, all looms, ECU, intercooler, all pipework, gear linkages, DBW pedal, downpipe with CAT, Ko3s

will prob see craig about a map for it as it needs some codes patching out.

My dad will be pleased with the upgrade in performance over that horrible 2.slow 8v (these are the worst ever engine in a mk4!!!!)

the forge pipe needed to relocate is all over the net!!  google it!

you need to know the size of your pipework, theirs 2 sizes available
