This old chestnut... hmmmmmmm
It's almost impossible to value a car in this way. Personally it doesn't matter what the price is for this car, what would put me off is the mileage, lack of mention of service history and a very short MOT. I'd try and get a full ticket on it before you advertise it if you want to attract attention for that sort of money.
-
Put it in the classified section for £1600.
Then tell us what happens.
-
German plates - you just lost 1k on the price.
-
Thanks guys
It has some service history and yeah mileage is high
Not trying to sell it on here, just wanted to know how much its worth as im selling to a friend and dont want to charge to much/give it away

Might be worth your while going on ebay and auto trader with a budget of £1600 and see what your money could buy verses what you have to sell???

Not the most knowledgeable on MK4's but I would expect to pay around £1500 for a standard/unmodified car with a decent amount of MOT and around 100k on the clock.

I'll give ya a Mars bar for it!

be lucky get £1500 imo
around £1000/£1200
but u never know could be wrong
-
29p
-
£1000-1200. has 2 months mot, little history and 160K. be real
if it had a full mot youd instantly gain some ££, but again 160K without FSH is a turn off irrelevant of most things tbh
-
i paid 1k for a standard car with less milage and more mot yesterday
-
id give about 500 for it.
no offence but what i see
At the end of the day is an end of life car, with some nice seats and radio but with nasty alloys. that been to the moon, with littel MOT so thats as good as no MOT. and service history. undoughtedly the clutch is about all done and it's proably going to need a whole load of bushes changeing for the next MOT and praobly have a few emmisons issues. and on a car with an engine thats just about all used up.
it's like a grenade without the pin problem is your stilll holding it and the pin was pulled out about 4 seconds ago
-
I've just paid £1800 for a 1999 GTI 1.8T with FMIC, BOV, Cone Air Filter (unsure of make), silicon hoses, uprated coil pack and leads, Stainless steel exhaust system right through.
FK Coilovers.
Only 90,000 miles.
I think you'll struggle to get £1600 for that with 160,000 miles
There are so many out there, and cheaper than that too.
I looked at those, and with that mileage, wouldn't have paid more than 1000, long MOT really will help it sell though.

So, looks like fat birds are damned cheap these days.
