Title: Working ya bollocks off
Post by: Bellend on 10 January 2012, 20:35
Anyone else feel like they're doing it ATM?

Worked all over christmas and have just got in from running about sorting bits for private jobs half hour ago.

Absolutely knackered. Plus showed two people the MK4. Why Gumtree brings so many messers, I don't know, always has done.

AND I feel like I've got totally nowhere cause I still don't have any cash.  Just sitting on two cars and lots of parts invoices I've had to shell out.

Let's hope they all sell/people pay tomorrow for the jobs.

Damn. It sucks as it's all a gamble as well. If someone was to come along and burn out one of the cars, it would leave a very big dent in me.

I wish I could save some money, hopefully a payrise will be coming shortly (possible job relocation as well) which will be welcomed.

Wish I had a job to work my nuts off, can't get a job for love nor money, can't get my golf on the road as I've got no money for the parts.

When I do eventually get a job hopefully I'll be working 60+ hours per week, while managing to fit in fixing the golf, doing hgv 2 then 1 driver training, national and international cpc training to be a transport manager, adr training to transport hazardous materials, running my mates transport company, fixing/modifying my mates lorries, and most importantly trying to do the impossible and keep the gf happy.

All depends on me getting a job though.

I am on a 70 hour week at the moment... going from no job at all to 2. I am enjoying it and long may it continue

not the greatest pay in the world, but if I keep putting the effort in I have no doubt my efforts will not go unrecognised.

I wish putting the hours in were recognised for me! Worked my bollox off for 18 months and was passed over for promotion 3 times. Gave up, left the ship and started working in the dockyard. Finishing at 10am most days as there's no work on, and even when there is, I finish at 12 anyway. Play football between 10 and 11 Tuesdays and Thursdays, still getting paid the same, and low and behold when I least expect it, I get selected! Start course on 28th May for a foundation degree in engineering, so 2 years full time studying based in Fareham.
Moral of the story, if your in the RN and your a lazy bastard, you go places!

Am I complaining? Nope. Kinda paid off tonight, there an hour and I earned a nice £100.

And I found that secret myself when I bought the Micra for £300, thrashed it about with my mates for a couple of months then took it through a car wash and sold it for £1500.

Technically it should be SORN without an insurance policy but you get 21 days I've found.

just be lucky you have a job

True although since the job pays so little, all this is my own hard labour, skill and intelligents.  :smug:

TBF, I know there isn't many jobs out there but for the car business, I borrowed £150 and then that has turned so far into about £5k if everything sells and I get it as cash.

Plenty of jobs out there.  You just need to be qualified, or assed enough to find them.

I'm scratching around things to do at work at the mo, got that bad this week I was sent up to clear the moulds up in the loft and even then I had to stretch it out for two days.

Always the same though, no-one puts in orders over Xmas but we should see things picking up again at the end of the month. I'm not doing over my 39 hours though, family comes first

Last week I renovated the place.

You know once Chuff n Guy were going on about toilet from hell? Ours was worse.

I did this:

Sink wasn't there before. New toilet, painted plumbed in sink etc. Was a b!tch to drill through 18" of wall though.

Then 18" of wall for another sink drain.

Rewired a lot of things, new lights everywhere, painted the workshpo before crimbo, re did the ramp.

This week we've been stupidly busy so far. Made a massive cock up on an A4 though, pulled the gearbox ECU out and the car was in park. So the ECU has been sent off due back Friday and the car has been stuck on the ramp all week. Luckily have done with out it so far might need it tomorrow though, will have to pull a driveshaft.
