Just wondering how much i should be getting charged for an Engine bay respray in a Mk 2 golf ?/ Its not really rusty here and there slight bits ? Just i want to get it done while i get my engine fitted(g60) Will be a proper job ill have done like new in there just wondering if anyone has an idea what im likely to be charged? The bodyshop will get the car with everything out and be sending it out the same so there wont be an engine in the way!! or any major work to be done

few hundred for a proper job?
-
I paid £80 when mine had the 20vt put in. so it was sent to the bodyshop between engines.
they did a good job too.
-
Yeah that will be how the bodyshop get mine aswell!!
-
I have been quoted 300 in total for the engine to be cleaned shot blasted then painted properly sounds fair to me should be a top job im told not half a job!!

I'm thinking of touching up my engine bay while theirs no engine in it.
-
do it man!!! i did, just think of all the sh!tty bits you'll never get the chance to do again......unless you take the engine out again!

hi, just been touching up mine while the engine's out, t-cutted the whole lot, then jenolited a couple of spots, and used a touch up brush, very cheap and looks pretty good, most of the touch ups are out of view, with the engine and ancillerires back in place, its a silver mk2, i know silver is a good imperfection disguiser, i wouldn't bother on a red car.
