Title: First Posting...........
Post by: golfmanj80 on 10 January 2012, 15:52
Hi all

Live down near Bath, oldie! over 60 running own business, had a Golf 140 3 door for last 5 years, ran like a watch, but with over 80k on clock decided to move her on, especially after a drive in DSG GTi and GTD, so decided on GTD as used to diesel.

Found a 2009 GTD in Tornado Red at price I could afford in VW dealer in Loughborough, car is GTD 3 door, 18,000 miles, ex demo plus one owner, DSG, Tornado Red, Vancouver 18", Satnav, Dynauidio, ACC, Autoglym lifeshine, Rear sensors, Winter pack. pics later when rain stops !

They needed deal done by end of November [demo on 26th] so 'threw in' full tank, road tax, wiper blades all round, MOT for life, Personal plate change and plates.

Have been running mostly in standard suspension mode, tyres at about 32-33, OK on rural roads, seems to sharpen steering in standard rather than comfort ?

Not done many miles yet, trip to Dunstable this weekend, then Bournemouth in Feb to work on Rallye Sunseeker.

Impressed with interior, better than Mk 5, certainly up to Audi [had a 225 TT a few years ago]

Have found the forum very interesting and helpful [now changed doors to self lock on move !]

It sounds like a very nice car Pete.

Tornado and Vancouvers are the only way to go.

Welcome to the forum Pete. (http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a121/KStanier/VWwelcome.gif)

You could put that in your signature because is very annoying on here when user post a question or replies and we don't know what they drive.

I hope you enjoy your new motor.

Welcome Pete, glad to hear you are enjoying the car. The Mk6 is a fantastic all round car and the GTD is a brilliant edition of it. I wish you many happy miles of motoring in it.
