not really much help at all lol
ive googled it and been thru all vauxhall forums and found nout so thought mayby just mayby my helpfull friendly golf forum might have an idea or two

Speak to Chris Bull the banger man, he knows his Vauxhalls (how to crash em anyway)
-
"Foam like substance out the washer bottle" have you put Fairey in it?
Thom

looks more like the expansion tank for coolant to be.
if it's broken, replacement headgasket at best more likely cylinder head
-
that's obviously the coolant tank. it appears that your coolant system is pressurising.
-
Just shown the lads at work.
First response was has someone used screenwash anti freeze rather than radiator antifreeze
They have seen this done before and it is a complete twit to fully clean out of the radiator system.
And you have said the washer bottle and not expansion tank :lipsrsealed:
-
Next question
What work has been done on the car lately ?
-

At this point I think this thread has the potential to become quite funny.
-
At least the coolant system has had a good clean
-
Confused at washer/coolant etc.
That definately looks like screenwash in the coolant system though.
Put some deicer in it.
-
Probably a crack in the cylinder head, a mates Volvo FH16 kept doing that after £3500 in parts turned out that's what it was.
-
Sorry ment coolant bottle :embarassed:
car hasnt had any work done to it since i bought it apart from changing thermostat lastnight i have done around 5000 miles init trouble free so far
im the only that goes under the bonnet i deffo havent put any screen wash in either lol
Its been fine then started getting a funny smell in car so thought i would have a check under bonnet and when i did there was the foamy stuff comin out of the overflow on coolant bottle
-
Been told by a collegemate that mixing antifreeze can do this. If there's deffo no screenwash it could be seriously overheating I guess. :undecided:
-
Get a sniff test done.
Also is the waterpump functioning ?
-
Cheers for help so far
deffo no screenwash lol
antifreeze goin off was only other thing i could think of
will deffo have to get sniff/pressure test on it
and water pump seems to be working fine constant flow of water in coolant tank
-
My advice is to not waste any more time thinking about it and just drain the entire system and fill it back up with fresh water and antifreeze, it's easy enough. If it's still a problem I would suspect you have a slight crack in the head gasget which is pressurising the system with exhaust gasses.
-
Or just scrap it. It's a vauxhall after all

It's a Vauxhall, nothing is easy  Seriously, you've got to get the alternator out of a Zafira from underneath which costs a lot in labor :lipsrsealed:

Yeah but it's bubbly coolant, working with water can't be much harder on a Vauxhall than any other car.
-
Yep i will drain it and flush again.with hose like did lastnight and try that
-
drained flushed again pressure tested and all seemed ok :undecided:
so i dunno im lost did find a tiny leak and i mean tiny sorted that then tested again all good lost no pressure
but for what ever reason its still full off bubbles
mayby time to give it to vauxhall
-
Have you tried just plain water?
-
Have you tried just plain water?
yep i have indeed
im wondering if it has mayby had a turd block init at some point to stop a leak and its now reacting of something thats the only thing i can think of

Either that or a headgasket mate. Or crack somewhere.
Get it sniff tested.
-
surely if it was head gaskest it would of showed up on pressure test ?

Not always. As I said a sniffer test will confirm if there is engine fumes in there. It looks like it to me.
-
ok will get that done next its a pita someone just hit my audi as well so need this while the audi is being repaired
-
Fun times.
Just nab a courtesy car for the Audi?
