Need some help

just come in from a blast in my 90 8v gti and the rev counter is bouncing all over the place whats wrong? There is nothing in the Haynes manual for it?

check your earth straps, especially the one to the bonnet....

well the one to the bonnet is shot so ill reattach that tomorrow and see if it works.

Worked on the wifes car.... Dunno why but it's true!!

No harm in disconnecting battery either for 5 mins then recconecting,  worked for me  :wink:

Check your other earth's there are 3...

Bonnet, Gearbox and cam cover.
