Been prescribed glasses as it seems when I concentrate on things I get blurry vision, didn't really realise how bad it was until I had an eye test yesterday. So things like driving, gaming, using computers (including work) and pretty much anything else means I need to wear them.
What should I do to help the process of getting used to them?
I'll tell you what, it's like going from SD to HD.
-
Weird at first isn't it?! I found not moving my head quickly or too much helped, it will only take a day of so to get used to them! I would wear them all day at first then start swapping between wearing and not!?

Lifted from your Facebook profile pic... sorry about that Kirk

Don't put them down, unless you put them in the case, somewhere sensible.
Remember where you've put them, if you put them down, but really, try not to put them down. You WILL lose them.
Clean them with the cloth in the case, not your t-shirt.
Do NOT wear them while using a grinder.

or while having a fight with a chav :lipsrsealed:

Thanks guys. Yes Nick it is wierd at first, still is but it's nice being able to see clearer, especially when driving.
Thom, you bumder.
Mr. H, I don't plan on putting them down apart from in the case, I've heard horror stories, and Chelsea always loses/sits/stands on hers, I'd rather not do the same.
-
may as well just loose them on the 1st day, just get it over and done with it's going to happen anyway.
-
i had that same experiance last year, and its like going HD with added zoom function. i sat on mine and now one of the lenses pops out, and i clean mine with what ever T shirt im wearing, only use mine for gaming or using PC or playing Darts.

Get some small microfibres (or cut up larger ones) that you can leave in various areas eg car, jacket, work desk etc. Since I started using microfibres, I find even a tiny speck is incredibly annoying.
-
Don't wear them whilst at the pub.
If you do, be prepared to have drunken cretins coming up to you going "Lemme try on yer glasses, mate!" as they rip them off your face before you've had a chance to reply.

Its good advice about only cleaning them with the cleaning cloth in the case, I do that every time I get a new pair for like the first week, then after that I just use my t-shirt and the scratches seem to accumulate from then on. Oh and don't clean them to aggressively, I've broken my fair share of frames by doing so  Good Luck with them

Then I can't blame my mingers on my poor eyesight!!

Try rimless glasses no pun intended
-
def get rimless, they cost more but are worth it and also get anti relective coating so people dont see themselevs when they look at you!
-
Get insurance on them
-
I didn't get rimless but the bottom of the frame isn't there. Also got anti reflective came with them, paid additional for anti glare which seems to work well for driving at night and tv too.
-
Don't get pissed and take them off ot hool them in your shirt, done this a few times and they fell out got stood on and flat as a pancake and lost a expensive pair of Ray Bans when in a taxi they fell out my pocket :p so all I'd say is don't take them off if your pissed hahah ;)
-
Cheers Joe, don't think I'm gonna take them out when drinking as I won't need them. Might just say at the bar "I'LL HAVE THE BLUE ONE!" instead of saying WKD Blue please mate.
-
Don't play racket sports in them unless you have the elasticated strap thingy to hold them on. Playing badminton then watching your (now out-of-focus) glasses go flying across the court is both irritating and potentially expensive...
-
Well I personally worse glasses for about 1 day if that then ditched them in favour of contacts. Over 10 years later I still don't own a pair of glasses.
Couldn't deal with stuff like, they steam up, you have to move your head more, blurry peripheral vision where the glasses end, making your nose itch like a bastard etc etc etc....
