i've been doing this conversion over the last few months and i've been struggling with the immobiliser cutting in so i've managed to get an none immobiliser ecu and ive got it running. the only thing is i haven't put the rad back on so didn't want to run it long so i turned it off after about a minute but the engine didn't cut out so i ended up break dancing after pulling the main ht lead off. i got the engine out of a seat 2.0 16v and the ecu is out of a mk3 golf gti. any info would be great. thanks lee

Sounds like you need to re-visit your ignition wiring, because if it was still running when you turned the key off you're not using the correct switched live.
Next time, disconnect the battery instead of electrocuting yourself.

to be fair i haven't touch the ignition wiring is there something i need to change?
