Title: '04 plate clio
Post by: scarr89 on 06 January 2012, 19:51
A slight issue with the missus' Clio, apart from the fact that it's a Clio. You start it up and the lights seem to fade, come back to normal, perhaps a little flicker, fade then back to normal. It does this only on start up, ie once you've driven a mile or 2 is stops...Any rough ideas?

Trust me I have told her this many times before

Thanks for the 'constructive' criticism guys...

She has the MOT due on it a couple of weeks is this something that would cause a fail? I have a multimeter to test it...if I can find it

if the headlights are in anyway faulty, irrespective of whether the issue lies with the headlights or not, then yes you could have troubles through an MOT - Surely you have some £50 MOT testers round your way ?

a multimeter will only tell you if the battery has lost a cell or isn't holding a full charge. I'd have said the alternator was on the way out.
