She is after a Free TV (judging by prices, 32" TV) and a touchscreen phone (HTC Desire style, reasonably large screen for decent internet). Phonewise I'm thinking HTC wildfire as it's a bit smaller than the Desire, cheaper and still looks great.
We're after the Sony BRAVIA 32" KDLEX401 LCD TV (1080p, which I'll be keeping and passing my current Toshiba 720p to the living room).
If you think another 32" TV is better, do say please (I have the 32" Regza one listed)
Phone contract wise, she wants internet (500mb is enough) and some minutes and messages. 300 of each should be fine.
Providerwise, Vodafone is really good in our area, I've got it and always have signal, so that's the preferred carrier.
Oh and before you say anything about the site, I used it a few years ago to get a free 250gb PS3 and it's legit. We had no problems with it.

Sony bravia tv's don't have that good of a picture quality and the colours are dull, I bought my dad a 46" Sony bravia full hd lcd tv and paid £3600 for it and the picture was sh!t, better off with lg, Toshiba, sharp, Philips or Techenika.
Toshiba imo has the best picture quality. (I have 2 Toshiba's 26" and 42" both are crisp with good colour) or Proline are good as they are made by Philips, their a Philips tv with a different name on.
I have always found Nokia easiest to use, I've had a 3310, 3410, n95, n96, n8 and now the lumia, all easy to use, I had a couple of Blackberry's, a couple of Samsung's tocco and I can't remember what the other one was and hated how unnecessarily complicated they were. I really rate the lumia highly as it loads full internet pages quicker than an Iphone or my laptop, the only problem is the voice recognition isn't very good if there is background noise.

whatever you decide to get, go through TopCashBack first... get around £30 cashback.
I bought my Xperia Ray from buymobilephones, got £110 cashback from them plus an extra £30 from topcashback :smug:

I dont know which sony tv your dad bought or how long ago he bought it.... but sony do some of the best tvs available at the moment. If your dad paid £3600 for a sony tv and the picture was no good, then its more likely to be the source rather than the tv itself.

I would go for Desire S over Wildfire anyday.
I have desire and my old girl has a wildfire and the difference is shocking ps1 vs ps3..
Heard Samsung are the best TV's to go for as they are the leading LED/LCD screen producers.
-
I've got the LG tv, mine is LED back lit but looks just like the ones shown :undecided:
I picked mine over the Sony,Samsung, etc as it had a much better picture when side by side in the shop.
Was also a lot cheaper but that's not your problem
I'd go for a phone with buttons as touch screens are weak and unreliable, you also look like a fool stroking them in the pub
HTC's seem to last longer than the ipoo or samsung offerings, I dont have any broken one's in my draw for a start

samsung and sony share screen technology. the old samsung ones were sh!te but came in a pretty case. Got rid of mine :lipsrsealed:

I personally have a LG TV which im very happy with, but thats just what i heard..

I was impressed with my father inlaw's Xperia X8 andriod made simple and smooth, he is over 65 and managed to work it out with a bit of teaching from me. Its better than my Magic by miles!

alot of it is down to the quality of the source in store displays. always better to set each one to what you prefer as stores do adjust pictures to make some look better that others (usually ones with a higher margin :lipsrsealed: )

Mum is looking at samsung galaxy ace. She's 100% sure she wants a touchscreen phone. She's not after performance or anything, literally just touchscreen with camera, internet, and a few handy apps, hence why I said wildfire, although I'll get her to look at desires too, I'll let her play around with mine for a bit.
For TVs, which one would you pick then? Sony, LG, Toshiba, everyone's got different opinions :undecided:
-
Let her fiddle with the Windows Phones too

Yeah I've pointed her in the direction of carphone warehouse as I've got little patience for helping her choose a phone. I've told her to annoy the assistants there and find a phone she likes, then come home with the name and model and we'll get that one

samsung led screens are still the best by far for the general consumer... samsung and sony do make screens together but sony bought in to the venture... hence why samsung own 51% of the joint company that manufacture the screens... some of samsung screeens in lower modela were pretty bad but now they are incredible the c500 series for the price are amazing... and anyone that goes in to shops as mentioned by someone else should not go by the picture they see in store as the source could be crap or its been done deliberatly to force people to buy another tv to get rid of stock

Yes that was me also
Sony have just recently quit that venture.
The new samsungs are nice... but having had one for a few years I was put off by their over complicated setup and IU. The sony i have now works with my ps3 and surround sound system so only one simple remote.
So I would bear that in mind also.. you may want to pair the tv with existing equipment!

So which 32" out of these? http://www.buymobilephones.net/free-gifts/free-hd-ready-tvs.php (http://www.buymobilephones.net/free-gifts/free-hd-ready-tvs.php)
If the 37" samsung gets REALLY good feedback, then that.
-
out of those.. i would go with the samsung 37"
-
Out of the 32" ones which one? The 37" Samsung is so expensive!
-
I wouldnt ever go for a 37" Samsung anyway There screens are not made by samsung and are less quality than a 32 or 40.... If it was me i would go for the sony out of the 32's in that list
-
since pioneer pulled out of the tv business, aren't panasonic's the best tv's out there now?
-
Sony screens are/were made by Samsung and LG
Sharp make sharp screens (and make them very well)
LG make screens for themselves and most other brands, they are the biggest LCD/flat screen manufacturer in the world.
cmo and auo in China/tiawan are big players too, making a lot of cheaper brands and stuff for the big boys

All down to opinion and theres not really a best as you can buy tvs for 30k for a 50 inch tv samsung usually tend to top awards for there products and again it is all down to personal preference also... some people compare a base entry samsung or sony to a top panasonic in a shop of course it would be better every make has a top and base series and there are pretty much a whole new range every 3 to 4 mths so there really isnt such a thing a s a best as the next models might be better than the other companies best model
-
Lg may make more but samsung still sell more led/lcd screens than any other company
and sony now make there own screens for there top end models
