Hi ,
do i need canbus leds for my number plate bulbs ? bought cheapo led non canbus from ebay and the seller has replaced them twice because they die after a few days. Is it just because they are cheapos or do I need the canbus ones? I dont have a bulb out warning indicator on my dash. Normal festoons work fine.
Cheers

bump. anyone ?

Probably cheap rubbish
You don't need canbus ones as the MK4 doesn't monitor bulbs like the later VAG cars do :nerd:

There's no such thing.

Them if you want light:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290559358346&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123
or them if you want floodlights:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-x-39mm-12-Power-SMD-LED-Xenon-Weiss-Soffitte-12V-/190624336401?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item2c62188a11
The second one I have for the dome light and it is literally a floodlight, not sure if it will fit in the number plate spot, so measure up on the second option. I've ordered from both them ebayers and had no problems.
