Title: Seat Dealer.....
Post by: richw911 on 05 January 2012, 17:11
We bought a Seat Ibiza 1.4 16v mainly for the GF to use. When we first had it it had 32k full Seat history but no paper work to say cam belt had been done.

So i booked it in with Seat for water pump and cam belt, not something i would normally do I have an independent garage i use but Seat offered me a very good deal.

Few hundred miles on there is knock when putting on or letting off the power. My first thoughts are the Dog bone mount bushes.

I was about to order them but thought i would check how much engine movement the was.

When I looked there was a lot but not because of the dogbone bushes because Seat had failed to put a nut on one of the engine mounts!

All sorted now but fookers  :lipsrsealed:

Just shows that you cant guarantee dealers will do a better job. I only went to Listers VW to keep up my warranty and service book stamps. I have an indy in Worcester who is great

Doesn't need big words, small ones will do.

Something like "your a bunch of useless cu*ts" would do.

No offence but just because they are dealers don't mean they can't make a mistake.. Maybe they put it on but didn't tighten properly and vibrates loose.. Just my thought.

Very true, anyone can make a mistake - should ALWAYS double check main components like this though - Would hope they would do on wheel nuts!

Mate I agree with you totally.. But from what I see you pointed the problem out and they straight away fixed it and checked all other bolts.. Some vw garages would moan about doing that lol
