Title: Rear window de-mister
Post by: walchy01 on 05 January 2012, 09:30
Mornig All

Although my rear window does eventually de mist when the switch is on, it is very very slow, am i right in thinking the only way to correct this is to replace the back window, my thinking is that the strips in the glass are damaged or not as good as they used to be

Thanks

Hi
You can get repair pens to relink the strips from ebay or halfords, try this it may help only a couple of quid.

If the circuit is broken in the glass, then It wont work at all.

Check the connections either side for corrosion, and clean as required. Will probably be green and very resistive if they've never been touched since Wolfsburg.  Be careful unplugging them though, may be a bit 'seized on'.

Any left-right elements that don't warm up after this, find and repair any breaks as above.
