I've been offered a really good deal on a set of 19's, they are 9.5 by 19 running on 255/35/19's, i do not have the ofset yet.
I'm running with 18" monzas with 225/40/18 tyres
Could I run with these on.
-
would need to check the offset but 19s will be ok
-
Its the size of the tyres too, with that extra 30mm the last thing I want is tyre scrub, I know the old vw saying but not really wanting that now
-
The 19's in that size would increase the overall diameter of the wheel by nearly 4% so the gearing will change,
It also means your speedometer will be reading slower than actual.
The normal 19s are 225/35/19.

i wouldn't be going for a 9.5" rim personally.
if it doesn't rub the inside or outside it will ruin the handling regardless

Not a hope, I'd say.
8.5" wide 19" are close on 225 wide tyres, and have been known to sometimes rub with 235 wide tyres on...so I just don't see where you are going to put an extra inch of width and 20-30mm more tyre width.

It will depend on the offset of the wheel, but i would of thought the only way you will get 9.5" wheels on is by fitting 215 stretch tyres on,
and it will ruin the handling  "DONT" do it unless you just potter about posing
