Title: my 1.8t is very lumpy/chuggy please help

hi,i've been the proud owner of my v reg 1.8gti turbo since sept 2010,i love my car and really want to look after it as best i can, however over the last cpl of weeks its developed a running problem,it starts first time and idles fine/doesn't stall etc,engine ticks over nice and quiet,and car isnt smoking.....however its not responding properly when i accelerate its like its getting stuck,its chuggy abit jerky and is not going properly at all,i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas??? my brother checked the plugs and said they were fine,any ideas/help would be much appreciated,thankyou,Carla

Is your engine code an AGU?

Could be a number of things MaF sensor , ignition amp, boost leak

As above mate....got same issues myself.

MAF sensor has gone on mine. Quick test for this, if you have no access to vag, while the engine is running lumpy pop the bonnet and unplug the sensor. May see an improvement straight away and problem pinpointed.

do i unplug the sensor then run the car to see if it makes a difference?? would this cause poor mpg also ?? thanks

Yep unplug and see if any difference. Yes Damaged / Faulty MAF = bad MPG
