-
1.8T all the way! its the best of them all (well that you listed)!
look in the "post pics of your mk4 " for some insparation
-
1.8T, as you can do a lot of tuning on them, they're iconic cars, and you can pick them up on the cheap side these days! Good for buyers  Bad for sellers :lipsrsealed:
-
thts wat i was thinkin im gonna go look at 1 tomorrow but im a bit sceptical because it has 100 thousand miles it is a mint but i have heard the turbo can pop dunno if this
is rite???? oh and can u help on a price to sell the mk3 its imaculate inside ten months mot 4 months tax coilovers k and n and the mk4 turbo alloys ta
-
and toby u said well wat i listed wat other options???
-
R32
1.8t ftw!
-
well the R32 is obvioulsly the daddy! but the mk4 is more tuneable!!
have a look in the classifieds on how much your mk3 is worth! :)
havnt heard ot the turbo's going pop!
and it all depends on what you want from your new mk4! the agu is the early one, and better engine, and with a ko3s and a few other mod's it will produce around 200bhp!
-
yea r32 bit out my budget. so 100 thousand u think is alright? and safe? so u think before 2000 is the better 1 to go 4? im new to this forum is there a classified section how i get on it?

also consider audi a3 turbo seat leon cupra the leon has 6 speed box an ko3s
-
in price range it has to be a 1.8t which has service history, been looked after etc loads in classifieds
-
Also consider a GTTDI the 130/150s...brilliant economy and just as quick as a petrol.
-
thanks 4 the help i was swayed to 1.8t but def made my mind up one last question before 2000 or after which is best to buy
-
id say 2000 mark  stronger engines
-
so up to 2000 yea thanks
-
1:8t all the way mate
-
yeah >/2000
-
1.8t all the way!
100k miles will be fine as long as it's been serviced regularly.
As for a price for your mk3 it'll depend on: mileage, any rust, condition of body work & service history. For a scruffy, high miler your looking at 400ish, a tidy sub 100k one will fetch circa 800-900
