Title: oil light flashes and stays flashing

i have had this problem with my mk4 golf the oil lights comes on and flashes and it doesnt stop i have check the oil and it is fine so i dont know what this may be anyone??

Could be oil pressure

How often has this happened??

I'd get the sump off ASAP and replace the pick up pipe; its common that they block resulting in lower oil pressure which in turn leads to a knackered engine

well ive had the car for 3 weeks and its been doing it since i got it and previous owner only just told me its been doing it for a while now, ill get what you said checked and see if it works

like what was said check pick up pipe bout £15 from dealers

Sounds like the oil pump pick up pipe is blocked, fingers crossed that it has not caused damage with it doing for a while.

I wouldn't buy a car with an oil pressure warning light on.. Not like the seller didn't make him aware.

As said before pick up pipe ASAP!
