im thinking of buying a car that is for sale close by its a golf gti 8v 5 door in black and looks a nice car i have phoned it and i was told its done 195000 miles but runs and drives sweet > its a 98 r reg
the milage does put me off but what would you do can they be ok with this milage?????
-
Keep looking, you could get one with 100k on it and that makes a lot more sense.
-
depends how much it is
-
its cheap and has a full history i hear what your saying but i do like the look of the car but if im going to have a poorly gti theres probablyno point in getting it thanks
-
How cheap because Mk3 golfs are worth peanuts at the moment, especially 8v's
-
its 500 from a japanise car import dealer
its been colour coded and has a nice set of wheels

For £500 I would keep looking.
-
Forget about it  I was looking for ages until I found mine
-
Mileage aside, is it a Japanese import or just one of the dealers part-exs?
-
Mileage wise it could be fine. could be a dog. only way to find out is to have a look and a drive. though for that money you couls get something with alot less milage.
ide keep looking unless he can knok the price down quite abit
-
Keep looking
-
500 quid could prob get you one with 100 - 120k on if your lucky, just watch out for the dreaded knackered sills under those lovely plastic covers lol
-
not worth 500, i have a mk3 8v, r reg and would recommend it
keep searching
-
Too me 195'000 is just proof its a good un'???
But id look for major (recent) engine work to substitute for the mileage
For your budget you can get better or you can save up for alittle something better

keep looking mate, its worth it in the long run.took me 4 months but found a mint mk3 gti cc on coilovers, tt alloys tax and mot with 142k on the clock and only paid £500
