Title: Drivers door won't open!!??

Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Can't open it from the inside or outside, all the other doors work fine.

Any idea? Think I made it worse now, handle seems loose now :(

try pushing the door in towards the car while pulling the handle.

If not make sure u have new lock module then remove door card then window reg then smash up lock so you can open door up as safe locking motor mayhave jammed

Nothing to do with the lock modules, the cable has come off the handles

Cables come off both handles? I would be very suprised if boths come of, if off at outer handle you should still be able to undo door via interior handle

Mind you looking at your pics again the cables look abit tight on the handles you see where you pull the handle out look in groove on edge of handle and disconnect cable that goes in there with a small pick or screwdriver then try opening on interior handle

I reckon this too, due to everything was fine yesterday, and this morning I took it apart to fit that part where you open the door was the inside, after that it went tits up!

If he cant open the door he's going to have to cut off the door card to get to the lock module?

Might be worth PM'ing lozzie, she had a similar problem not long ago, not sure if she solved it

I've pmed her :)

But I'm gonna try take the door card off without cutting it, It's possible because people say they have done it, so I'll just give it a go.


I still reckon somethings just loose, because it was fine before I took it all apart.

Pissin me off now  :angry:

I've just ripped the door card off and the door pin wasn't connected to anything but the door still wont open.

What do I need to do to get the basta*d open ?  :angry:

Yep you can get it off only screw that's a pain is one on leading edge of door card you will have to tear it off that one

On mine in winter months I used to have to use the palm of my hand near the catch and give it a few sharp punches to make something "click" and voila it'd open.

I do miss the MK4 woes lol
