-
Meh, same as mine and mine should be free!
-
alot of sh1t should be free but it aint
-
mine was £215 for the year.
Exactly the same as my 1.6 clio

I've just had to let my road tax run out as can't afford to pay for it, annoying thing is it's done on emissions and even though it's 10 year old it's emissions are lower than brand new cars that pay £35 per year or whatever it is. but I've got to pay over £200 per year. hows that work?

10yrs old means it falls into the old style tax bands, ie anything below 1.5litres and anything above 1.5litres. If it was slightly newer then it would fall into the full on tax bands based on emissions.

snap get over it  i love tax
-
mine is £260 for year  not looking forward to re taxin it.

No it doesn't, it was registered after 01/03/2001 which means it's done on emission.

this is why i want a bike, cheeep insurance cheep to run cheep to tax. just cant afford lessons or anything
-
bikes are the best mate ;) you should get one
if you have some bike experience then tbh you could do your test with no lessons or like 1 lesson. if you have no experience then you might need a fair bit tbh :/ definitely worth doing though, bikes are insanely good fun and cheap as chips

erm, who told you that they are cheap to run :undecided:
insurance ISNT cheap for new riders
Tyres, £170 a pair + and can be shot in 4000 miles.
brake discs
add in ya kit, helmet etc
X2 if ya wanna ride all year.
starting from scratch £ for £ a cheap runabout car can be a LOT cheaper
-
thats a good point ^^ haha, forgot about the extras
my helmet was like £600, gloves and boots where about £200 each, leathers werent to bad
tyres are expensive but last fine depending on what you use the bike for and what tyres you get. i use my bikes purely for fun so i run on bt016s which are pretty much legal race tyres and they last 5 minutes, but when i used it as a daily i had other tyres which lasted over a year
-
i commuted 65 miles each way on my bike for 6 months,
went thru a set of tyres in just over a month.
it worked out cheaper to run a car when you worked out how much the consumables cost to replace :lipsrsealed:
-
Knowing how Chuff used to ride his bike am surprised they lasted 1k let alone 4k :lipsrsealed:
-

i ment run asin petrol wise not tyres ect wise cause i wouldnt have a clue how fast it goes through all those consumable type things
-
must of been on an extremely soft compound to do tyres in a month lol
fuel there not to bad, but its liek anything it depends on the bike. my RVF is terrible on fuel, but it has a V4 engine. theres some very cheap to run bikes out there
-
X5 gone so no more £270 a year tax bills or £120 a fill up for a couple of weeks use, oh and the £250 a corner, cheaper than the boxster at £272 a corner
not cheap thou taxing 3 cars, luckily mk2 is to cheap to insure at £120 a year so thats a little help...

there an epic bike tho the rvf 400 i had a vfr 400 and it was brilliant could never afford a rvf
-
they are awsome bikes, bit under powered but the handling is insane
-
Thank you for reminding me I forgot. Ran out today :(
-
Mine is due end of January £245 for the year
-
just done mine
no point even moaning about it, still beats going on the bus
-
i dont mind payin it its that all the money they get off everyone and they still cant keep up to filling pot holes does my head in.
-
What's this tax thing you speak of?
-
You should see what a TL1000R does to tyres in 1k miles. Wire any :laugh:body
-
Lol, Still depends on compounds and what you use it for, mate uses an r1 to commute and his tyres have lasted 6 months +
If he put my really soft ones on they'd probs last a week lol
-
I think pot holes really depends on area round my way there are hardly any and if there are they do them reasonably quick.. they do like a high speed bump tho lol mines £130 a year for the starlet and £200 and something for the golf lol
-
Done my Golf a few months back £118 for the year good perk with my derv  but got to do my Mrs Seat Alambra Tdi which just missed the cheaper tax so hers is getting 6 months for I think £118 tomorrow
-
£71.50 for the year cant complain dirty diesel
