Hi (again),
I've had my car for about 2 months now, had a garage do a full service and cambelt on it as soon as I had it so there was no reason to open the bonnet after that, opened it the other day and couldn't close it again. Had to throw the bonnet down as hard as I could to get it lock properly. I'm sure it's just a matter of adjusting the catch, any tips or ideas?
many thanks

There are 3 torx screws that hold the catch in place, it maybe that it needs adjusting up or down. The screws can be seen through the VW badge and all you need to do is loosen them off slightly to adjust. If this doesn't work then it could be that the prongs on the catch are bent, check that these look okay (look like two wires bent at a right angle). If that doesn't work then it maybe the cable is too tight and needs adjusting.

Might be worth getting it replaced.
Mine started playing up like you described then one day refused to shut at all. Had to bodge a fix for a couple of days until I could get it repaired.

Finally got around to fixing it, the catch was darting to et rusty but cleaned it all up and greeed it, all fine now which is a weight of my mind. So annoying knowing that I couldn't open the bloody bonnet! Haven't fixed my airbag light though by disconnecting he battery, trip to vw I think. Great..
