 Finally got meself a t4 after many months of searching, about a month ago now. Had to go all the way to London to get it(ebay)!! was all going well, untill 2 weeks later when some silly bint in a RX8 pulled out in front of me and i pushed her down the road!!
She called the police, 2 police cars turned up, a riot van and an ambulance!!
luckily for me the copper said it was her fault, witnesess said its her fault, cctv also says its her fault but she is insisting its my fault!!!!!!!
And i found out today that they are probably going to write my van off and give me book value!! im well pi**ed off!!
sorry for the rant, just needed to get it off me chest!!!!!
what is the matter with some people!!!!!????

Sorry to hear about, I know how it feels to have some a*hole cause an accident and ruin your car.

The insurance company will do digging to find the average price of the vehicle with the same age, miles etc etc I think they found the advert for my car as they offered what I paid for it minus £50 I paid extra for better wheels.
Sh!t happens, it's only a car at the end of the day. It can be replaced (believe it or not), could have been your or her life that came to an end.

This - it's only tin and rubber. Plenty more T4s out there. Argue the toss over the value - values are going up at the moment for T4s.
Then go get a better one.

How badly damaged is it? Can it be repaired with the insurance money? Just because its written off doesn't mean it can never be used on the road again. Although, I have to say that I'd be just as pi$$ed as u if my T4 got written off as it is a one off, you'll never get another the same!
-

It's a mass-produced commercial vehicle. How the hell is it unique and unrepeatable?
Dead people? They're unrepeatable.

Did my post actually say anywhere that dead people were??? Perhaps I need a visit to the opticians and docs cos I can't see it nor do I remember typing it!
And NO, I don't think I could spend the amount of time, money, work & effort that has put into my van on another!
-
No win no fee?
I would have sued her

That's because it was an analogy I was using to illustrate the point. Have you used analogies before?

Awww, bless, you'd made it induhvidual.
Lowered it? Put big alloy wheels on it? Side windows? A bit of an interior in it? Painted it?
Or was it more of a lifetime of personal development?

Here we go again, grumpy smurf is online
How long ago did you buy the van for, I'd argue it depending on price difference. I argued my ground, provided them with a receipt of purchase and they happily paid the amount I paid for it.

A lot of hassle, insurance is there to cover the cost of the vehicle. Unless you suffered injuries why would you sue? Plus the process is very long winded.

try it on with the insurance company, my dad got his gsxr written off last month, they offered him about 4k or something all he did was send a link to an ebay search of his bike and they upped it to 5.5k :P
-
never take the first offer from any insurance company it'll be crap. 3rd offer is usally what it's actualy worth
but as said it's only a van, plenty more of them and you should get a nice new hire van to rally round in untill you can get another paid for by her insurance
-
make the money up from injury claim, might get a t5!
-
Funny this happened to me. The bloke pulled out in front of me .He called the poilce . Lol they had a right go at him, saying: what if it was a bike. In the end they said ,just go (both your faults) .No loss of noclaims for me and he had a hired car. i had a cheap 1.1 ford fiesta.
