So I bought a Tevion Aftermarket Stereo for the mk3.5 Cabrio (X Reg)...It wasn't a bad buy for £50 however wiring it in has proved a nightmare!!!
The back of the Tevion takes ISO connectors so I don't need an adapter block. Plugged it all in and works however it loses memory so obviously constant live needs swapping over....Now on most adaptor blocks you just swap red/yellow but this stereo doesn't require an adaptor block thus I have no red or yellow!!!!
I cut/soldered the red/white (thick) to the red/brown (thin) which seemed to fix the memory issue...However the stereo now seems to be drawing power even with ignition off and key removed. The stereo doesn't actually function it just lights up...today I found myself with a flat battery...
So can any kind person please advise on what wires need to actually be swapped on the original loom to rectify the issues...I've attached a pic of my handywork so you can see the cables I have....
